News brief from Central & Western Gharri Region November 03, 2006 by Gur Gharri GSG  News Contributor  One Kenyan officer has died and one woman was seriously injured in a car accident. A vehicle carrying a Gharri delegate returning home from Moyale, to El Wak was over turned near Takaba, Central Gharri Region, killing the officer escorting the delegates, died instantly, and three more were injured. 

According to information received from Mandera, the sole female passenger on board is in critical condition. Chief Boraw and Chief Khasim are amongst the injured passengers. While the Shimbir Fadum Chief Khassim sustained a broken leg, the El Wak Chief Boraw sustained a broken arm. The cause of this accident was blamed on heavy rain and bad road structure in the area

Also, news coming from El Wak, indicating that three Gharri herdsmen were attacked by Murralle thugs near El Wak, and one of the three victims has sustained a fractured cranium.
